This Scotsman, albeit sort of flat, stood guard at the Fort which is still in
active use today.
A moat was the next line of defense. At the left, you can see the firth in the
distance.
Inside was a huge yard
surrounded by ramparts
and cannons.
There was one amazing solitary tree
and one mortar
which might have been the highlights of the fort.
And then there were the buildings of the fort.

They bore some signs
and dates
and insignias.
And there were some very British communications facilities.
Toward the back was the chapel. The first building constructed.
It contained some very old flags

And some beautiful stained glass.

At the very back of the fort was a sign
that led up ramparts
to a great view of the Moray firth

And the end of a nice day
as we headed back
to our Thistle home-away-from-home.
