This is the capitol building in Hartford
and the Liberty Bell! Mark Twain's amazing home...
he said he wanted it red.
The Bushnell Carousel
which was closed due to heat. Too bad.
Up the road, we stopped at the Yankee Candle
for lunch and, candles.
Then briefly into Vermont
and on to New Hampshire
This is the capitol building in Concord
and guess what. The Liberty Bell again!
It was making better time than we were.
North of Concord is a Shaker Village.
It must have been an incredible way to live.
Next we went to Maine
Kennebunkport
but not the Bush's.
The fifth state was Massachusetts
The capitol building
but no Liberty Bell in evidence.
The old and new side by side.
The famous Swan Boats
and Boston Harbor. Great stuff.
On to Rhode Island!
Another capitol building. This one looking more like Washington DC.
We were lucky enough to be in Providence
for Waterfire!
The entire city was there.
They lit wood fires in the river and kept them going all evening
until 11pm and the fireworks.
